Welcome to Liz Sheard Education, offering advice and assessment for dyslexia, dyspraxia and other learning difficulties and a support teaching service for school subjects covering Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
I am an experienced teacher and this forms the foundation of my approach to students. I have taught all ages and abilities in a range of secondary schools in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire: comprehensive, grammar, secondary modern and independent.
Most recently, I have specialised in supporting individual secondary age students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, or poor working memory, and I also teach and support DSA-funded students at the University of Buckingham.
I am qualified in the diagnosis and assessment of Special Educational Needs, and my reports give recommendations for school, home, and for the students themselves, to help them to understand and manage their difficulties, and to build on their strengths
I assess students’ suitability for examination access arrangements such as extra time concessions, readers and scribes, separate invigilation, or the use of a word processor.
I have been an approved assessor for Oxford High School and for Stowe School, Buckingham and I have also carried out assessments for students at Wheatley Park School, Cherwell School and Lord Williams’s School in Oxfordshire, for Waddesdon School in Buckinghamshire and for D’Overbroeck’s College, Oxford.
I am happy to offer general advice by email or phone; see my Contact page for details. Please book an appointment for more specific help
